Doves today announced a deluxe edition of Constellations For The Lonely. A catch all digital only release will feature the full album, plus Cally/Lean Into The Wind (Saint Teresa Drautwerk Version is not included) and the instrumentals of the 10 album tracks. Cold Dreaming instrumental is now available to stream on all DSPs.

Doves kicked off the summer festival season with a slot at the Tomavastas Festival in Madrid on Friday evening then a headline slot at Wychwood on Sunday evening. It was all-change on keys, with Matt Steele (You may have seen him play live with ACR) taking over from Christian Madden. Links to setlists for both performances can be found at the 2025 tour page. ‘Cally’ is out now

Previously only available as a bonus track, Doves has now released their latest single across all digital platforms.

Talking about the themes of the song, Jimi says, “It’s about seemingly, permanently shambling people, those who just never seem to get anywhere and they deserve so much better. A story of lovely ne’er-do-wells who always seem to grab the wrong end of a dirty stick.”

Andy: A song for the misfits! Possibly the only song that me and Jimi both play drums on. Both our drum parts are used in the final mix.

Constellations For The Lonely bonus tracks Cally and Lean Into The Wind have been released on double A-side 10″ vinyl for Record Store Day in the UK on April 12th. 2000 copies were pressed, and they can still be found online for the retail price of around £18-20. Fans reported that the prices in London were around £20-22.

It was followed up with ‘Carousel’ and ‘Words’ from 2002’s ‘The Last Broadcast’ which really got the crowd going. Jez, stepping up to perform lead vocals, should be really proud of himself; it must have been daunting to take on the mantle from Jimi, but he was absolutely brilliant and was superbly supported by his brother Andy too.

The live sound was elevated by the addition of three incredible musicians in their own right which included the always-superb Christian Madden on keys.

From the anthemic yet introspective ‘Renegade’ with the poignant line ‘And nothing, lasts forever’ to the dreamy vibes of ‘Rise’, this was an assured spin through their career-spanning back catalogue, as well as serving up highlights from their critically-acclaimed latest album ‘Constellations For The Lonely’ which showcase their exemplary musical craftsmanship and is a bona fide masterpiece.
