Doves have announced the track listing for their new Best Of. The compilation features a new track ‘Spirit Of Your Friend’ which was recorded back in 2008 for the Kingdom of Rust sessions, originally titled ‘Eastern Roll’. The compilation also features ‘Darker’ which is being released on vinyl for the first time in over 25 years.

So, Here We are is released on November 14th by EMI North.

It’s almost 6 months on from the release of Doves sixth album Constellations For The Lonely. Using interviews from Doves social media and various media interviews the band did to promote the album. From the press release announcing an all new Best of compilation: So, Her We Are: Best of Doves

Three decades of Doves music is celebrated this winter as the band announce further UK Tour dates and the release of a ‘Best Of…’ compilation, inclusive of unreleased music. Bringing the band’s frequently euphoric and occasionally brooding hits and rarities to record store shelves and stages, a night at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town is included in a run of four, newly announced dates accompanying news that So, Here We Are: Best Of Doves is to be released on multiple formats on Fri 14 November 2025 via EMI North.

All three members of Doves have hand-picked a collection of tracks to feature on So, Here We Are: Best Of Doves. The first such compilation to be pressed to vinyl, Doves promise singles, album tracks and rarities spanning their entire 27 year releasing history, a journey which began with their debut Cedar EP in November 1998. The full running order is to be announced in the coming months.

The band has given fans notice that the compilation will include a previously unreleased track. So, Here We Are: Best Of Doves will arrive on double vinyl, including standard black and collectors’ coloured variants, plus anticipated record shop exclusives. CD editions will also include a fans-only, alternative, deluxe packaging option.

Defiantly pushing through uncertainty to play a run of 16 sold out dates in support of their latest album, Constellations For The Lonely, through late-February and March this year, the Jez and Andy Williams-fronted Doves hint at a busy winter following a hectic summer festival season. Adding new headline dates, opening at Dundee’s LIVEHOUSE on Fri 12 December 2025, the brothers continue to meet fans’ demands to hear popular cuts from Doves’ six studio albums, while co-founding bassist and vocalist, Jimi Goodwin remains absent. Tickets go on general sale on Wed 13 August 2025 at 10am BST.

First announcing a revised live line-up in late 2024, the extensive Doves headline tour that followed included their first hometown dates in over a decade, playing two sold out nights at Manchester Aviva Factory. Since then, the band has continued to play Europe-wide headline and festival dates since, faithfully performing the band’s biggest singles, including There Goes The Fear, Pounding and Black And White Town.

Including their upcoming, landmark headline show at Halifax’s historic Piece Hall and all four, newly announced dates in Dundee, London, Bournemouth and Cambridge, all upcoming Doves UK Tour Dates are confirmed as follows:

Doves packed out the second stage. Highlighting that they can more than deliver the hard to categorise indie-alt sound of their recordings, the band brought a giant sound to the tent, filling every corner with their shimmering riffs and effortlessly memorable melodies. Andy recently spoke to Yorkshire Live about the upcoming big show at the Halifax Piece Hall. Here are some quotes Andy gave:

Doves promise a special treat 15 years in the making when they headline Halifax Piece Hall

How are you feeling about the upcoming Piece Hall show in Halifax?

“We really can’t wait. I’ve not been but I’ve heard so much about it. We were due to play there in 2020. It got cancelled, I can’t recall if that was covid or whether Jimi wasn’t well-enough. We were gutted.

“I’ve heard a lot about it. Everyone just speaks so highly of it and, I think, it will be our biggest gig this year. I can’t wait. We’ve said for this gig we are going to play a song we haven’t played for 15 years.

“It (the song) is something people always ask and we’ve never got round to doing it. Jez and I said ‘let’s play it live’ for that one. I think people will be chuffed. I won’t give away what it is. I think it’ll go down well…I hope.”

How does it feel to know that support is there three decades in?

“We feel blessed. Music moves very fast and stuff gets left behind. I think the media is quite obsessed, along with people in general, with ‘what is the latest?’ and that is good. It isn’t totally negative as encouraging new talent is really important but I think there’s an obsession and stuff can get forgotten about.

“To be in that environment and for people to still want to see us live, and buy the records, is a real blessing. We don’t take it lightly.”

Your mum was even there cheering you along for one of the dates. How was that?

“It feels like she’s been on this journey with us – to a certain extent. She’s known all the ins and outs of the band’s history. We were really chuffed. We are very thankful, she’s 89 and a total force of nature. We owe her a lot. She encouraged us early doors. We were quite wayward growing up – me and Jez. So, she allowed us to take our own path.”
